He had a master's degree in Visual Arts, at the Autonomous University of the State of Morelos. He studied a Bachelor's degree in Graphic design with a major in Illustration in the Autonomous Metropolitan University. He had Professional Photography studies in the Active School of Mexico City and got certified on digital illustration at the UAM in 2007. He has made studies on web design, video, digital image edition. As well as studies on different visual software in institutions dedicated to the preparation and specialization in such tools. Since 2001, he's been part of many collective and solo exhibitions. Since 2011 he decides to exhibit his continuous work online. He abandoned the generalized Motus, the ordinary foments stipulated by the culture sector. His work is related to the invention of mythologies, chance, vacuum, irony linked to ridicule, appropriation- modification of images. Treats about the poetry of the impossible. He works with different media such as experimental photography, digital graphics, collage, drawings, photomontage, writing, video, animation, and typographies. WORK
Gustavo A. Rodríguez Nava explores themes as the invention of mythologies, irony, chance, and emptiness. A fundamental part of his creative process is the wander, the recollection of images and the encounter of situations that turn into visual and written documents. His job relates to the poetics of the impossible. Through experimental photography and digital graphics, he makes use of an unpredictable methodology with which he transforms his iconographies through technologies, collage, montage, drawing, and essays/writings. The principal motif of his work is to generate a transference to the observer and to cause a lecture, the other piece of art, the one made by the lector. His recent projects have the only purpose of being spread on the internet. Since 2011 he works exclusively for and from the internet.
THE LETTER
The letter in its set goes from significant to the signifier, the lingüistic structure that dissolves. The infinite readings, other time other reading. I stay quiet. I write I send up the letters afloat. ¿Sometime will be that isn't going to be only one time? No.
IMAGE
Image. The travel and the things I pick up. I can't stop hearing, feeling, seeing. I transfigurate the place in which for me it seemed to arrive. On the corner of my regards, almost nothing seems to be what I dreamed what it was, any image is at the end the image I dreamed. At the time that the eye water bubbles, the water isn't the destiny that I believed it would be, that sip or that let it pass transparently. I change, every fixed image blows with time, it reintegrates it returns and it stirs inside the water inside the mud at the shore where it grows the herbs. The sun is still there.
MOVEMENT
Compounds of kinematic silence. The regard of a gag unexplored. Not exactly as the gag of a comic film, I don't remember to be laughing inner my dreams, at least not all the time. This indecipherable enigmas at first sight, even for me, are forming a sediment that get confused, that dissolves at the same time, or that I am unable to identify, I cannot determine them at the moment. Who reads at this days? Are plants between rocks that at the same time hive different labyrinth without syntactic structure consistent. Will read for reading what you read.
